I am looking for those that are currently working with this species or know where to find it. This is a fish that I have long wanted to keep and breed, but since getting back into the hobby it seems to have vanished. Any help in locating and definitely any first hand information from those that have kept it would be greatly appreciated.

As well what is their temperament when it comes to other west African cichlids and with fish like plecos and corys?

Someone else was looking for these a couple months ago.

They were common in the club several years back, but have disappeared.

True A. thomasi (African Butterfly Cichlid) is fairly meek for West Africans, so somewhere in the Angelfish range.  However, it is commonly misidentified with things like Hemichromis elongatus (5 Star Generals) when small/juvenile which will quite happily terrorize and kill everything in the tank including each other.

And, of course, every fish is an individual which means it might act completely contradictory to everything you have read.
