I want to use some ceramic planters for a couple of patio ponds. They have a drainage hole in the bottom. Does anyone have experience patching and waterproofing these? Planning to use some type of cement and I do need to know what type of paint or coating do I need to ensure they are watertight? Thanks so much. 20200301_113349

My wife has an outdoor fountain in one of these.   The sides are already watertight due to the ceramic glazing.  So far, I’ve not noticed any leaking from the bottom which I think is unglazed.  I sealed the hole in the bottom by gluing a small piece of plastic over the hole from the inside and then flipping it over and filling the hole with epoxy resin.  So far that has worked.  Probably over-engineered. 🙂
